Hailing from Houston, Texas, Destiny's Child is one of the best-selling female groups in the world. Destiny's Child has sold more than 15 million albums and singles worldwide.
The Writing's On The Wall, the group's sophomore album, has sold more than 9 million copies worldwide. Released on July 27, 1999, The Writing's On The Wall was certified 7x platinum by the RIAA as of February 26, 2001.

Destiny's Child won the favorite Band, Duo or Group (Soul/Rhythm & Blues Music) award at the 28th Annual American Music Awards, announced January 8, 2001, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The trio has been nominated as Favorite Singing Group in the 14th edition of the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards. The awards ceremony, to be hosted by Rosie O'Donnell, will be held on April 21, 2001, in Santa Monica, California, and broadcast live on Nickelodeon.
